Neighborhoods: where do you fit?

Odense C / City Center

Close to the H.C. Andersen Museum, Brandts, and Vestergade. Lively, walking distance to everything. Limited supply of larger shared flats.

Hunderup

Classic villa neighborhood with large, old apartments. Quiet and a bit more grown-up. Biking distance to both the center and SDU.

Skibhus

Calm, close to Munke Mose and parks. Cheaper than the center, good bus connections.

Hjallese

SDU's local area. Lots of students, good kollegier (Niels Bohrs Allé). More isolated from the center, but 5 minutes to the university via the light rail.

Bolbro

Multicultural, cheap, mixed population. Close to the center by bus and bike.

  • Cycling is a way of life. Odense was named "Årets Cykelby" (Cycling City of the Year) by the Danish Cyclist Association in 2015 and was the official "national cycling city" 1999-2002.
  • CPR registration at borger.dk within 5 days.
  • Semester start is primarily September, with smaller intake in February.
